DIFFERENTIAL HOLDBACKS

When ordering, specify diameter of holdback, bore
and keyseat. Mount with base in horizontal position
as shown. Do nor mount with base inclined, vertical
or at top.
NOTE:The Machine Shop, Inc.,
will not knowingly sell or recommend a holdback for
use on a ski lift or other conveyance that transports
people.

The torque (T), in inch-pounds, required at the
shaft on which it is mounted may be found by using
the equation at right.
The base should be mounted on a sufficiently
rigid support designed to take an uplift load
of approximately where R = the radius of the 1.5T/braker
in inches.

T = 63,000 X HP/ R.P.M.
where HP = Horsepower required to run the conveyor
R. P. M. = Revolutions per minute of brake wheel.
